New Google Reader

For a long time I used Bloglines as my primary feed reader. I kept trying Google Reader, but became frustrated with it because of all of the things I couldn’t do with it that I could with Bloglines, most notably mark all as read. But I have faith in Google and kept with it despite the problems figuring they would get it right sooner rather than later.
And I was rewarded for my faith when I logged in this morning and found a completely new interface that borrows much from Bloglines. It has each individual feed on the left hand side sorted by “tags”, Google’s favorite search keys. It also now has a “mark all as read” function that was sorely needed after a weeklong vacation.
I did come to like some of the features of the old interface. While it is nice to have the feeds segregated, the old interface mixed them all up in time order but still allowed you to read only one tag or one feed if you choose. It looks like that this may still be available, but I liked it as the default view.
I love the new Reader and have permanently deleted Bloglines from my list of favorites. I will be publishing a list of podcasts and feeds I follow later in the week. Does anyone else use a feedreader?
