Any time a clip from a hockey game is still broadcast seven years later (and probably still would be if ESPN still had the rights) you know it was a hell of a game. The clip is, of course, Patrick Roy and Mike Vernon (two goalies) squaring off in the center circle.

As a Wings fan, I can remember the years that the Stanley Cup went through Detroit or Denver. Every game had a playoff atmosphere as they were clearly the two best teams in the league and were hated rivals.

I miss those days. These games alone brought several fans into hockey as I sat people down to watch them knowing that every game would be an excellent one.

Oh, and I still hate Claude Lemieux.
