What I am Reading is a highly irregular column with links to stories that I want to point out, but don’t necessarily have the time to write a column on each one.
- Robots Assisting Autistic Children to Form Relationships (Engadget)- This is a really cool story about how European researchers are using robots to help combat the growing epidemic of autism. It helps teach the children how to read people and form relationships from an early age.
- Find Free Software Alternatives to Commercial Software (Lifehacker)- Not every one of these alternatives will be truly great, but if you are a cheap skate you can often find alternatives to paid software.
- Plan Trips via Public Transportation (TechCrunch)- A free website that allows you to plan a trip by taking public transportation (and your own two legs). It includes mapping software so you can find your route without knowing the address of the destination.
There’s three quick articles for some helpful weekend reading.
