If you haven’t shopped Amazon.com in a while you may be pleasantly surprised. They’ve rolled out a redesign of the website that brings the site into the 21st Century design-wise.
The sleek new look does away with the old buttons and the orange and white color scheme for a new blue, white, and orange look that has all of the major departments as links on the left hand side of the window. The header is a simple search bar with your shopping cart and wish lists links prominently displayed. On product pages, the department listings disappear, leaving only the small header so that the product takes up the rest of the page.
As you can tell, I’m impressed with Amazon’s remodel. I think that the website was overdue for a sprucing as the site had basically the same look for 10 years. It’s not a radical design shift, but definitely one that was needed.
