A post today over at ExUrban League made me laugh and think at the same time. It’s about a German officer that separated his troops into four different groups based on intelligence and work ethic. He found the best group to promote was the smart and lazy because they would see a problem and probably [...]

Presidential candidate Fred Thompson has released his tax “and economic” proposal. The reason for the quotations is that the proposal has nary a mention of actual economic proposals other than “cut taxes good, Democrats bad”.
The proposal would extend President Bush’s tax cuts, repeal the Estate Tax, repeal the Alternative Minimum Tax, reduce the Corporate [...]

On this day of giving thanks, it’s time for me to remind myself for all of the things I’m thankful for and sometimes forget in the day-to-day rush.
I’m thankful for my wife and daughter. They truly make my life worth living.

In today’s installment of no tolerance gone awry in our public schools, a Mascoutah, IL girl was given two days detention for violating what I’m sure is a very important rule. Her crime? Hugging her friend after school.
Yes, hugging can get you 2 days detention in the Mascoutah school district. It’s to prevent “unwanted affection” [...]

Los Campesinos
Sticking Fingers into Sockets
Arts and Crafts
MP3 CD
Los Campesinos! is a seven piece Welsh band that recently saw it’s debut EP “Sticking Fingers Into Sockets” get distribution in the US and Canada through Canadian label Arts and Crafts. It’s a wonderful EP, and my only real quibble is that at 15 minutes the EP stops [...]

This was one of those places that I drove by a hundred times and always said that I had to go there. Now, I’ll never have a chance! The Elvis is Alive museum in Wright City, Missouri, is closing its doors after 17 years.
According to the article that guy has conclusively proven that the person in [...]
