Amazon.com ordered to stop shipping books free in France.

Amazon can comply or face fines of €1,000 per day for [...]

I’ve written before about my love for footnoted. Today, Wendy has another doozy.
Pilgrim’s Pride, the frozen poultry company, is a favorite at footnoted. The company is largely controlled by the Pilgrim family and they run the company like their own petty cash fund. Both the father and the son sit on the compensation committee that determines the compensation [...]

He had other issues, like refusing to address shareholders at annual meetings, but his pay was wayyyyy over the top and his refusal to take even a modest paycut to save face really summed up Nardelli’s entire tenure at Home Depot. (Not to worry, he did get a $210 million severance package)

Opening up markets is always a good idea and I really hope that Commissioner Martin takes a hard stance on this. It’s time to stop allowing cell phone companies to stifle innovation simply because they can.

The rates would be much more competitive if all of the credits were taken out, but then politicians couldn’t claim to be saving Michigan jobs and making all of those out of state companies that suck the lifeblood out of Michigan pay their fair share. Tax policy always takes a back seat to politics when you have politicians making the rules.

So, if you are losing customers to your rivals and under pressure to increase profits from Wall Street, what’s the one thing you don’t want to do? How about piss off your customers? That’s exactly what Sprint is doing by telling 220,000 customers to find another carrier by the end of the month or lose their wireless number altogether. At least Sprint isn’t making them pay the Early Termination Fee!
